The contents of my Fukuda "gift pack", a.k.a. definitive proof that God exists:
I thought it only contained "24 cartons each of Fukuda Potato Stixz (sour cream and onion flavor) and Fukuda Twister Pea Chips (creamy onion and garlic)" (quoted from my last entry)". Boy, I was wrong. But I was never so glad to be so wrong:
...or at the very least, you should at least think that my whole Fukuda experience was pretty darn cool! Here is one happy kid:

And even better: defying all logic, I actually lost 2 pounds this past week (from excitement?), despite my new hoard of snaxz. Fukuda product reviews to come in the next few posts.

- 30 boxes of Fukuda Chipz - 5 flavors: Original, Wasabi Lobster, Sour Cream and Onion, Barbecue, Cheese. 2 sizes: one big, one small. 3 boxes per size per flavor. 5 x 2 x 3 = 30.
- 18 boxes of Fukuda Twister Pea Chips - 3 flavors: Original, Wasabi Lobster, Creamy Onion and Garlic. 2 sizes: one big, one small. 3 boxes per size per flavor. 3 x 2 x 3 = 18.
- 15 boxes of Fukuda Potato Stixz - 5 flavors: Original, Wasabi Lobster, Sour Cream and Onion, Barbecue, Cheese. Only 1 size. 3 boxes per size per flavor. 5 x 1 x 3 = 15.
- Grand total: 63 boxes of Fukuda snacks. There goes my diet!

Check out the photos of my niece Tinsel's 6th birthday celebration last weekend. My brother took most of them.
On Saturday (her actual birthday), we went for lunch at Burgoo in Gateway Mall which was followed up in the afternoon with a visit to Active Fun (at their branch in Fun Ranch, Pasig). Active Fun is essentially a blown-up version of a McDonald's "play place." My brother and I took turns accompanying the kids inside; we had to watch over Anton who was too small to defend himself against playground bullies. (Interestingly enough, the "no-play" adult pass is cheaper than a kiddie pass. But when you follow kids around, you have no choice but to play along with them. The adult pass is unlimited too!)
Tinsel was very, very excited to go there. I was very skeptical about the appeal of such a place at first, but having experienced it first-hand, I must say that I probably had more fun than the kids! This is a video of me and Anton on the giant slide:

On Sunday, we had a kiddie party at their home with her friends. Notice how incredibly pink the party was! This is the birthday girl looking pretty in pink:

Photos from our weekend outing at Laiya Coconut Grove, from March 31 to April 1. A beach outing with the whole family and Andreé. Lots of sand and water. My nephew Anton really enjoyed the beach:
Photos from our traditional Holy Week escape to Tagaytay (at my tita's house), from April 5 to 7. Billiards (8-ball), more 8-ball, and a trip to the nearby churches. Refreshing. Even at 8-ball, I'm ultra-competitive, as usual:

And for the long overdue next installment of the RubeTube Pick of the Week, I present to you... Hamad Darwish's Windows Vista wallpapers. Hamad Darwish is a professional photographer who was commissioned by Microsoft for some photos to be included in the Windows Vista's wallpaper collection, and these two are the ones that actually made the cut.
A lame pick? Perhaps, but I like shuffling my desktop wallpaper from time to time. When there's a bit of a lull in the work at the office, I press Windows+D to show my desktop and I just stare blankly. When my desktop wallpaper doesn't suit my current mood (e.g., angry, frustrated, bored, harassed-by-customers, just-got-my-paycheck), I open up my collection of downloaded wallpapers and pick one that fits best. Right now, this is what's on my desktop right now:
It's easily my favorite in Hamad Darwish's collection. And it fits my current mood of "I just need something pleasing to look at". The clouds and the ripples in the water produce a soothing, calming effect. The warm presence of the sand balances out the scene to prevent it from becoming dull and boring, and its gold/rust color is just right on the eyes (i.e., doesn't make your eyes burn). The presence of rocks beautifully interrupts the plainness of the vista (he he). Awesome shot!

Should I use Flickr, Picasa Web Albums, or some other alternative? I'm looking for an online photo album, not just a photo hosting service like ImageShack. Any comments for or against any of these? Thanks.
